Every rideshare driver needs a Business Number and a GST/HST account before their first paid trip. Here's how to register online in about 15 minutes.
The CRA is clear on this: if you're a self-employed commercial ride-sharing driver, you must register for a GST/HST account, even if you're a small supplier. Uber also asks every driver for their GST/HST number.
You need two things, and you get both in the same process:
